I'm new to the world of blogging and social media, and Etsy and running my own show, so to speak, but I'm eager, enthusiastic and completely and utterly dedicated to this new endeavor of mine. The fulfilling of a dream of sorts. Yes, a dream, a dream to call my own shots, to be the one responsible for my success and failure and to make things that speak to my soul, that give voice to my inner feeling, emotions and hopefully strike a chord with my audience and my customers. Understand that I don't want your sale, well I do...yes, let me rephrase that. I do want your sale and I want to you to be over the moon happy about it. I want you to find that special gift for mom or in law, daughter, wife, best friend or happen to come across me and find something that is all your own. A beautiful shiny piece of me that was made just for you. You see I do want your sale but only if you want your sale. Don't ever feel obligated to purchase something from someone, especially homemade. But do support small businesses whenever you can!
I love to craft...to reuse something that would end up as rubbish or banished in a drawer for twenty years. Do you have one of those drawers? Well I'd love to peek inside and see what's there. I have been collecting for over twenty years and the bug for crafting grabbed me as a young girl tagging along to flea markets, antique shops and estate auctions with my folks. And I like to say I'm part crow too, you know they love snatching up shiny objects and hoarding them like a dragon in a JR Tolkien tome.
I'm inspired by nature, art and architecture. I thank God everyday for the beauty I see, and am in awe of life and the strength and ingenuity of the human spirit. I love all the colors in nature and get a lot of inspiration from the changing seasons here in the mid Atlantic. I live in the Eastern Panhandle of WV, and no not Western Virginia. :)
I am also inspired by strong beautiful, smart women throughout time. Do you know one of those women too? I bet you do and maybe you are one. I am. The women in my family past and present fascinate me. My family is rich in artists on both sides and I'd like to think some of their talent and eye rubbed off on me. My mom even collaborates with me on projects.
As I endeavor to be an artist and business person I am also doing another important job which takes priority over everything. I'm mom to two fearless explorers and two crazy canines and wife to my best friend.
I love cooking, reading, writing, thrifting and decorating in addition to my passion for crafting one of kind jewelry. I also believe strongly in local food and sustainability and try to live a frugal and simple life. I volunteer for my local farmers market and I love cooking and eating real food.
